1. Daniel Allison was born about 1778 in New York according to census records. A birth date of 16 Jul 1777 has been reported but is unverified. It is believed that the family came from Orange Co. His will was signed on 11 Jul 1863. The will was probated in 1864 but was contested and went to the appeals court. In October 1830 Daniel Allison and his wife Margaret sold land, to Isaac Carter. It is presumed that they moved to Illinois at this time. In the 1850 census Samuel and James were living with their father Daniel. In 1860 Daniel was living with his son Isaac. All lived in Woodford Co., IL. George died before 1850 and it is a mystery why none of his children were living with their grandfather or uncles in 1850. James was unmarried and Samuel appears to have been recently married. However, Isaac had a family and he followed some of George’s children to Boone Co., IA. George’s daughter Nancy was recently married in 1850 and none of the other children have been identified in the 1850 census. Several of George’s children migrated to Iowa.
