Russell Salisbury

2. Atwell Pascal Salisbury was born on 9 Oct 1794 in Dutches Co., NY. He died on 23 Oct 1876 at St. Paul. He volunteered for service at Ellisburgh, NY on 30 May 1814 and served until 7 Jun 1814. He served as a private in Captain Seth Harrington's Company of the 55th Infantry, New York militia. He served a second time in the same company from 29 Jul 1814 to 21 Aug 1814 and was discharged at Sackett's Harbor.

He was reported in the 1820 and 1830 censuses of Ellisburgh, NY. He was reported in the 1840 census of Geauge Co., OH. He was reported in the 1850 census of Chester TWP, Geauga Co., OH. He received a Bounty Land Warrants for 20 and 120 acres on 18 Feb 1851 and 11 Apr 1855, both while residing at Chester, Geauge County. He also lived at Russellville, MO. before settling in St Paul, MN.

He married Martha Beckwith on 27 Jan 1815 at Western, Oneida Co., NY. She was born on 21 Jul 1797 at Western. She died 18 Jan 1892 at St. Paul.
- 8. William Russell Salisbury was born on 23 Mar 1829 at Ellisburgh, NY. William came to St Paul in 1851 where he worked as a carpenter. He moved to Henderson in 1854 and later to Scott Co., MN where he was a farmer. He married Adeline Gunderson on 2 Jan 1854 at St. Paul, MN according to court records. She was the daughter of John Gunderson and Anna _____. She was born on 5 Jun 1830 in Norway. He served in the Civil War having enlisted on 14 Aug 1862 in Company "I", 10th Regiment. He fought against the Sioux and then on 18 Sep 1863 he was ordered south to serve in Captain Martin J. Severance's Company under the command of Lt. Colonel Jenneson. She died on 3 Jan 1901 in Scott County. According to court records. He was reported in the 1880 census of Scott Co., MN. Living with the family was Anna Gounderson, mother-in-law, age 82. He died on 4 Apr 1906 at Blakely Twp, Scott Co., MN.
  - 13. Frances Viola Salisbury was born on 20 Jun 1855 at Henderson, MN. She married William Henry Esser on 05 Nov 1884 in Scott Co., MN. She died on 11 Oct 1921 at Manning, IA.
